5 Lessons from 5 Years of MACMOM Organizing

This month, MACMOM Organizing celebrates 5 years in business—a milestone that fills us with gratitude, pride, and reflection. Over these past years, we’ve had the joy of helping families and individuals transform their homes into spaces of calm, beauty, and functionality. Along the way, we’ve learned some valuable lessons about running a business, working with clients, and staying true to our mission. Here are 5 key takeaways from our journey so far.

1. The best part is making a difference in people’s lives.

At the heart of organizing is transformation—not just of spaces, but of the people who live in them. The most rewarding part of this business has been seeing the relief, joy, and confidence our clients feel when their homes become organized and functional. Knowing we’ve made daily life easier and lighter for families is the reason we do what we do.

2. None of this would be possible without my team.

Behind every successful project is a team that works hard, supports each other, and shares the same vision. The MACMOM Organizing team has been the backbone of our growth, and their creativity, dedication, and care are what make it all possible.

3. Not every day is fun—or easy—but it’s always worth it.

Running a business comes with challenges—long days, tough projects, and unexpected obstacles. But every challenge is an opportunity to grow, improve, and keep moving forward. The hard work pays off when we see the incredible results for our clients.

4. Organizing is basically an extreme sport.

It may not look like it from the outside, but organizing requires a lot of physical effort. From lifting bins and moving furniture to climbing ladders and working in tight spaces, there’s no shortage of bruises and sweat! Still, the satisfaction of creating order out of chaos makes it all worthwhile.

5. Build it, stay consistent, and they will come.

Success doesn’t happen overnight. Building a business takes time, patience, and perseverance. By showing up consistently, staying true to our values, and focusing on helping clients first, we’ve built trust—and that’s what keeps people coming back and referring us to others.
