Breast Care Is Self-Care: Honoring Health and Awareness This October
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time dedicated to education, early detection, and honoring the brave women who have faced breast cancer with strength. At MACMOM Organizing, we believe that caring for yourself and caring for your home go hand in hand. Just as an organized home helps you feel calm, centered, and in control, taking care of your health brings peace of mind and empowers you to live fully and intentionally.
This month, we are proud to support breast cancer awareness by donating $50 from every project booked between October 15 and November 15 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This cause is especially close to our hearts, as we honor the memory of Ellen, a dear friend and beautiful soul whose courage continues to inspire us every day. Her light reminds us that prevention, awareness, and community truly make a difference.
Why Breast Care Is Self-Care
Life moves quickly — between family, work, and everyday responsibilities, it’s easy to put your own health on the back burner. But taking care of yourself is one of the most important investments you can make. Regular screenings, self-exams, and healthy routines are simple steps that can have a lasting impact.
When we organize our homes, we create systems that support ease and well-being. The same mindset applies to self-care — by staying proactive and creating routines around your health, you build a foundation of balance and peace.
5 Ways to Prioritize Breast Health This Month
1. Schedule your mammogram.
If you’re due for a screening — or it’s been over a year since your last one — don’t wait. Early detection is key and can save lives. Schedule it now and encourage a friend to do the same!
2. Perform regular self-exams.
Knowing your body helps you notice when something feels different. Make it a monthly ritual — just like tidying your closet or sorting your pantry — to check in with yourself and your health.
3. Know your family history.
Understanding your family’s medical background can help you and your doctor make the best decisions about your care. Open the conversation with loved ones — it’s an empowering step toward awareness.
4. Maintain healthy habits.
A balanced diet, exercise, and proper rest all contribute to overall wellness. Choose small, sustainable habits that make you feel good — such as walking, eating fresh foods, and drinking plenty of water.
5. Support others and spread awareness.
Sometimes, the best way to care for yourself is by caring for others. Remind your friends, sisters, and mothers to schedule their checkups. Together, we can create a ripple effect of awareness and love.
How MACMOM Organizing Is Making an Impact
At MACMOM Organizing, we’re more than a home organization company — we’re a community built on compassion, empowerment, and transformation. This October, every project we complete carries a deeper purpose. For each organizing session booked between October 15 and November 15, we’ll donate $50 in honor of Ellen to support breast cancer research and awareness.
When you invest in your home, you’re also investing in hope — hope for a future with better treatments, earlier detection, and more survivors.
Take Care of Your Space — and Yourself
As you declutter, clean, and reset your home this fall, take a moment to check in with yourself, too. Schedule that mammogram, book that consultation, and make space — both physically and emotionally — for what truly matters.
Together, we can make a difference — one organized home, one act of care, and one screening at a time.
